Asa and Charles Dixon were children of Jesse & Laura (nee Boaz) Dixon, who were recorded in Sherman, Leavenworth, Kansas in 1870, 1875, & 1880. Raphael Dixon, age 66, born in New York, was with them (father of Jesse) in the 1870 census.

Jesse T. & Laura B. Dixon are recorded in 1870 with Cora, age 1. The 1875 state census records Cora, 6; Lydia, 4; & Celia, 1. Obed, age 1, is recorded in 1880 with his 3 older siblings.

It is possible that this the father is the Jesse Dixon who served in the Kingston County, [probably Caldwell County] Missouri Home Guards during the Civil War.

Asa and Charles would not have been recorded in any census reports.

Louria A. Dixon is recorded as the mother of 10, with 6 living in the 1900 census in Asotin County, Washington.

---------------

Laura (nee Boaz) Dixon was born in 1849 in Illinois, a daughter of James Boaz and Jerusha L. Gardner, who married in 1835 in Crawford County, Indiana. "Laura" A. Boaz is recorded as age 1 in the 1850 Hancock County, Illinois census with her parents and five older siblings. Sarah E. is recorded as age 13; Lydia, 11; Martha, 9; Samuel, 8; & Alcinda, 4.

This family resided in Pleasant, Appanoose, Iowa in the 1856 state census with 6 children 18 and under. James & Jerusha are recorded in Bourbon County, Kansas Territory in the 1860 census with Sarah E., 23; Lydia, 21; Samuel, 17; Alcinda, 12; "Luera," A., 10; James N. (Noel,) 5; & Charles, 3.

Louria A. Boaz married Jessie Dixon November 7, 1867 in Johnson County. Kansas. (marriage record)

Jerusha Boaz, 55, born in Kentucky, is also recorded in Sherman, Leavenworth, Kansas in 1870 with Samuel, 26; James N., 14; & Juliana, 12. Her husband is not recorded.

The graves of James C. & Jerusia (nee Gardner) Boaz have not been found. Their sons, James & Samuel, are buried here.
