Oley C. Blacken, 90, of Broadus, died this morning at a local hospital following a long illness. Mr. Blacken was born in Northport, MI, Feb. 28, 1872, and came west as a young man. He had worked as a ranch hand in this area for many years and in recent years had been a resident of Broadus. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ingra Sears and Mrs. Ethel Traverner, both of Seeley, CA; several grandchildren; and five sisters in Michigan including Mrs. Mary Swanson of Grand Rapids, Ingra Dobson of Sutton's Bay, and Gertrude Woodrow, Anna Blacken and Abbie Kyselka, all of Traverse City, MI.
