Karleene Rae Robbie was born at home to Bill and Elaine (McKinnon) Robbie on January 15, 1934 in Dundas, Minnesota. She attended grade school in Dundas and High School in Northfield, MN. In 1949 she started working for the Arthur L. Roberts hotel chain which owned the Stuart Hotel. At that time the dining room was managed by the estimable Helen Miller. In the summer months she went to the Roberts Pine Beach Resort at Gull Lake to work. Later she worked at the Panatorium, the Hiway Cafe, The Well and the Northfield Liquor Store. In 1971 she and her husband bought the Corner Bar in Dundas, and in 1983 they opened Firehouse Liquor on Hwy 3, then bought the Corner Mart convenience store.
In 1986 when she thought she was retired from business, she ran and won a seat on the Dundas City Council. She served in that capacity for 12 years. When her husband was ill and she didn’t run again, she continued to serve on the park board and took care of the city gardens until 2014.
In 2000 she became a member of the Dundas Baseball Board and served until 2017. She began serving as the treasurer in the fall of 2000. In 2002 she became the manager of the concession stand and served in these positions for several years.
She is survived by daughters Mitzi (George) Gregg, Lisa Stevens, Jodi (Kevin) Lawson, Jeri Quamme, Holly (Larry) Vasbinder. Sons Mitchell Amundson, Sean Adams (Cicily Knott) and her husband of 55 years, Jerry Adams. Grandchildren Jessica (Pat) Ryan, Joseph Winter (Cassie), Dylan Amundson (Michelle), Aaron Gregg, Brian Gregg, Taylor Lawson, Bailey Lawson, Tara Quamme, Madison Vasbinder, Haley Vasbinder, Porter Adams, Montana Adams. Great-grandchildren Dominic Winter, Anna Winter, Allison Ryan, Jameson Ryan. Sisters Audrey (Chuck) Demann, Millie MacKay, Linda Lieske.
