Larry was born in Bronxville, NY, to Martin Charles Fischer and Jane Ellen Losee and was raised in Mt. Vernon, NY, and Nutley, NJ.

Larry came to St. Petersburg in 1967 to live with his Grandmother Elva and attend SPJC. He eventually graduated from USF and established his Certified Public Accounting practice.

Larry supported numerous philanthropic and social justice efforts, served on many boards, and took leadership positions in his professional organizations. He served as Florida President of the Society of Accountants, the Society of Professional Accountants, and the Association of Independent Accountants.

Away from his office, Larry enjoyed cooking, collecting art, travel, and being near any body of water - whether home by the pool, the island cabin in Homosassa, or his lakefront farmhouse in SC.

Undaunted by health concerns (two kidney transplants and numerous hospitalizations) Larry refused to fully retire and personified the Hunter S. Thompson Gonzo quote:

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, ‘Wow! What a ride!’”

Larry is survived by a large family, countless friends, grateful colleagues, and Monty - his life partner of fifty years.

Always avoiding public displays of pain or regret, Larry emphatically chose not to have a funeral service and would rather you remember him whenever you raise a glass of cheap but surprisingly good wine.
