Diane Ruth Lambert Morris, 84, passed away July 23, 2017 at Methodist Hospice House. She was born in Coal Hill, Arkansas to Leon and Iva Mae Norton Lambert. She attended Little Rock High School where she played in the band. She married the love of her life John L. Morris on April 11, 1954. Diana was a fun-loving person always taking part in fun activities and often initiating them. She loved to serve everyone, especially when it came to food. She was a good cook of old southern comfort food. At Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, she was a bright light to many students and staff when she worked in the student personnel office and also in the maintenance department. In Texas, she was a valued employee at Texas Utilities and also helped in her husband's pharmacy as well. A devoted member to the churches she attended, she could be found teaching or helping with Bible classes, especially with the younger age groups. She was a member of the Great Oaks Church of Christ family. Most recently, she loved the fellowship provided by Ellendale Church of Christ at Culpepper Place Assisted Living. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert Norton Lambert. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John L. Morris; a daughter, Lea Ann (Michael) Lindsey of Bartlett, Tennessee; two sons, David (Karen) Morris of Nashville, Tennessee and Mark Morris of Atlanta Georgia; four grandchildren, Aaron (Katy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Ty of Atlanta, Georgia, Jon David(Kristina) of Huntsville, Alabama and Michael of Chattanooga, Tennessee and four great-grandchildren, Harrison, Eleanor, Naomi, and Hannah. The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 25, 2017 from 5-7 P.M. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 27, 2017 at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home. A private family interment will be held Friday July 28, at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
