Marvin J. Webb, passed from this earth on January 8, 2015; his family was by his side. He has gone to be with his heavenly father and those loved ones waiting for him.

Marvin was born to John Marvin Webb and Helen Linker Webb, 74 years ago on October 6, 1940 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.

Marvin grew up in Holdenville and attended Holdenville schools thru High school. From a young age he was a permanent fixture at the old Holdenville Ice Plant. His dad John Marvin managed the plant and put his son Marvin to work. Marvin talked about the fun times they all had when his friends came to the ice plant after school. Especially when they had snow ball fights in July.

After school Marvin went into the Army and became a Morse Intercept and Radio Operator. His specialty was copying Russian code.

He was part of the elite security group:
“Crazy Cats” 1st Radio Research Company, US Army Security Agency, Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam”. Sometimes his mission was to fly to different areas over South East Asia, copying code. Once, while on a mission his plane was hit and almost shot down. He served four years from, 1964 to 1968, in Okinawa, Thailand, and Vietnam. After serving nine years in the Army, he took his discharge in 1968, because the Army was going to send him back, to Vietnam, to fill the slot he had just vacated.

Marvin and Billie Blaylock were married on, March 24, 1979, in Thomasville, Georgia. Both Billie and Monica were so proud to have him. As, he was leaving for Georgia, his new father-in-law, Ullis Blaylock, said; “Son I feel sorry for you taking on those two girls”. Marvin and Billie had been married 36 years.

Marvin was a member of Barnett’s Creek Baptist Church, in Thomas County Georgia.

While he was in Georgia, he attended Thomas area tech school, Thomasville, Georgia.

In August of 1985, he moved to Wichita Falls, Texas. He worked as a Real Estate agent until, 1991, when he had to take a medical disability retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents; John Marvin Webb and Helen Linker Webb and his step-mother Susie Webb. His mother and father-in-law, Ruby and Ullis Blaylock.

His greatest love was fishing and loving his family and being with them and grand children Brandi and Matt…

He is survived by his wife Billie, of the home; daughter Monica Combs and husband Shannon; Granddaughter Brandi Combs; Grandson Matt Combs, all of Wichita Falls, TX; Brother-in-law; Tony Blaylock from Waukomis, Ok; Niece, Twalla Whal and Keith, from PA; Nephews, Troy Blaylock and wife Chris from Enid, Ok; Pat Blaylock, from Norman, Ok; Todd and wife Jill from Waukomis, Ok.

Funeral service has been scheduled for 1:00PM on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Church of the Nazarene in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Rev. Dane Robinson will officiate assisted by Bill Robinson. Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery with full military honors provided by the “Chickasasws". Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
