Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Saint Stephen United Methodist Church, 4600 S. Western St. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Mrs. Greer was born Feb. 28, 1935, in St. Jo to Melvin and Lillie Edes. She moved to Odessa with her father following her mother’s death, where she graduated from Odessa High School. She married Jene C. Greer on June 12, 1954, in Amarillo.
After they married, they lived in several different towns, where Jene served as a Methodist minister. Lillie was a devoted homemaker during those years.
After her husband’s retirement in 1987, they moved back to Amarillo from Chillicothe. She worked for Amarillo National Bank for the next 10 years, retiring in 1997. She had been a member of Saint Stephen United Methodist Church since 1987.
In her spare time, Lillie enjoyed reading and embroidery. She also loved to bake, especially cookies. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Jene C. Greer; a daughter, Darlene Burk and husband Donnie of Snyder; two sons, Jene Greer Jr. and wife Lesa of Pampa and John Greer and Thelma of Breckenridge; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Saint Stephen United Methodist Church, 4600 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
