Alice A. Robinson Bennett, 77, a 39-year resident of Hotchkiss Road, Randolph, passed away Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing in Jamestown.
She was born March 18, 1940, in Erie, Pa., the daughter of the late Winston and Ruth (Webster) Robinson.
Alice was a 1958 graduate of LaBoeuf High School in Waterford, Pa. She and her husband, Leo David Bennet, where married Oct. 17, 1959, in Union City, Pa., where they lived for eight years while Dave worked for Quality Markets. He was transferred to Randolph in 1967, and he and Alice lived there for 39 years while raising their five children.
Alice retired from Quality Markets in Randolph and had worked previously at the former Randolph Ben Franklin Store, Jamestown Rubber Stamp and Bells Super Market. She first and foremost was a home maker and loved spending time with her kids and grand kids. She also was talented at cross stitching and she made many gifts for friends and family over the years.
She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jamestown, where she was in the choir. Alice was a former member of the First Baptist Church and Faith Bible Chapel, both in Randolph, N.Y.
She is survived by two sons: Timothy (Deborah) Bennett of Rochester, N.Y., and James (Joy) Bennett of Harlingen, Texas; two daughters: Rachel (Eusavio) Perez of Painsville, Ohio and Elizabeth (Joel) Odach of Jamestown; 15 grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; a sister, Nancy (Dick) Mason of Canadoghta Lake, Union City, Pa.; two brothers: Wayne (Betty) Robinson of Winston Salem, N.C., and Charles (Billie Jean) Robinson of New Market, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Bennett on Nov. 29, 1995; and her husband, Leo David Bennett on June 14, 2017.
The family will receive family and friends from 3:30-5 p.m., Sunday (Aug. 13, 2017) at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 40 Hallock St., Jamestown, from where serves will follow at 5 p.m. The Rev. Mark Hinman, pastor and Rev. Gerald Haglund of Heritage Ministries will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Union City, Pa.
