Miss Laurie Nell Murphy was born on September 1, 1960 in Robertson County, Tennessee, the daughter of James Warren Murphy (1934-2016) and Ivy Nell (Roe) Murphy.

She was a member for many years of Mount Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church and later moved her membership to Springfield First United Methodist Church.

Laurie worked for Hollingsworth Oil, Northcrest Medical Center, and CEI over the years, and she was a member of the Jaycees and the Robertson County Fair Board for over 30 years.

A resident of Springfield, she was 56 years old when she passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family and friends on August 9, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents James Clarence Murphy and Eva (Adams) Murphy and Richard Nathan Roe and Flora (Dell) Roe. Laurie was survived by her mother; a brother; two married nieces and two grandnephews.

Funeral Services were held at Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home, and burial was in Springfield Memorial Gardens.
