On July 18, 1955 in Rural Warren, Michigan, Jim and Marie Edwards, welcomed the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, whom they named Karen Ann.
Karen was a hard working person. She held various jobs during her life, such as a caregiver for The Terrace at Denison Nursing Home and as an Environmental Specialist for the Choctaw Casino in Calera, Oklahoma.
She was a kind hearted and loving individual who looked past the outward differences of a person, in order to see the inner beauty of all people. Karen’s type of love was manifested even more so, when she adopted three beautiful children and instinctively began raising them with motherly love.
Early on Wednesday morning, August 10, 2016, Karen peacefully returned to the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by: her precious children, Lavina Calhoun and spouse Rodney Porter of Denison, TX, Anthony Calhoun and Demunta Green, Jr.,of Denison, granddaughter Janeesia Calhoun, companion Wesley Love, God daughter Virginia Hill and family, brothers David Edwards, Marvin Cramp and Gary Robinson and wife Tammy, sisters Debbie Johnson and husband Roger, Cheryl Nelson and husband Alan, nephew David Jasso, niece Annette Escalante, God sister Margret Johnson and family, along with other family members and friends.
