TREMONTON, UTAH - Mary LaJoy Jensen Adams, 69, Tremonton, Utah, peacefully left this mortal life at her home on October 11, 1998, after a faliant strggle with cancer. She was born in Tremonton on May 20, 1929, to Esther Eliza Ward and Deloss Parley Jensen. She was raised on a beautiful little farm in Riverside, Utah, and had many pleasant memories of her days there surrounded by family, many good people and her lifelong friends, "The Black Sheep." She graduated from Bear River High School in 1947 where she was very active in student activities. As a senior in high school, she was chosen as an attendant to the county Peach Days royalty.

She married Max Byron Adams on April 26, 1947, in Preston, Idaho. This union was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on January 13, 1976. Together they raised three daughters in Tremonton. Many truly enjoyed being a homemaker and spent the greater part of her life loving and serving her family.

She worked at various part-time jobs, namely Hunt's Food canning factory, Tremonton Liqupr Store, Pamakims, Heidi House and Hamilton Drug. She was very congenial and liked to meet and associate with people. As part of her service to the community she taugh 4-H sewing, worked at the election polls, was an avid supporter of the Jayceettes and participated with husband Max in many political functions.

Mary has always been an active member in the LDS church where she served as Junior Sunday School coordinator, Primary president, teacher, extraction worker, quilting specialist, compassionate service leader and visiting teacher.

Her hoppies included cooking and entertaining, growing flowers planting a garden and preserving the harvest, sewing, quilting, reading, camping, caring for her good neighbors, plus attending a variety of reunions and grandchildren's activies.

Serviving are husband, Max, Tremonton; daughters, Shauna (Wayne) Payne, Georgia (Jess) Udy, both of Tremonton; Tricia (Randy) Brown, Riverside; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is one sister, Thola (Reed) Lowe, Grace, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary's family wishes to sincerely thanks the many friends, neighbors, relative and members of Tremonton 9th Ward whose kindness and visits made her feel lived and valued. A special heartfelt thanks to Hospice and home Health caregivers for their supportive service to all of us.

The family suggest memorial donations be made to Primary Children's Medical Center. Donation cards are available at the mortuary.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 15, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Tremonton South Stake Center, 1150 S. Tremont St., with Bishop Bryan Buchanan officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, October 14, from 6-8:30 p.m. and Thursday from 9:15-10:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N. 100 E., Tremonton.

Interment in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
