He was born April 1, 1938, in Big Rapids, the son of Lloyd and Lucille (Noffke) Potter, and was a life time resident here. Following his graduation from Big Rapids High School, Larry served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.
Upon his discharge, Larry returned to Big Rapids, and married Phyllis (nee Pitts). For over 25 years, he worked as the motor pool mechanic for the City of Big Rapids, retiring in 1993. Larry was a longtime active member of the Big Rapids Eagles Aerie #2535, and was an avid bowler as well.
His wife Phyllis preceded Larry in death in 2012. Larry was also preceded in death by his parents, brother Glenn and his wife Betsy Potter, and brother-in-law Paul Jorgensen.
