Summer social in Olde North neighborhood
The Olde North Green Bay Neighborhood Association will hold the Third Annul Lila Wyckoff Summer Social from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Eastman Park.
This event will include free food, ice cream, refreshments and music. At 7 p.m. the 2004 Great Neighbor Award will be presented to this year's recipient, to be disclosed at the event. This award is presented to an individual who has significantly contributed to the Olde North Green Bay Neighborhood. The event honors one of the neighborhood association's founding members, Lila Wyckoff, who is battling cancer.
All residents of the Olde North Green Bay Neighborhood have been invited. The event also welcomes any friends, family or members of the community who know Wyckoff or are committed to the cause of rebuilding the community of Green Bay's original neighborhoods.

Lila M. Wyckoff, 67, Green Bay, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Green Bay Nov. 4, 1937, she is the daughter of the late Harry and Stella (Legois) DeVillers. Lila married Ken Wyckoff on Oct. 8, 1966, at Saints Peter and Paul Church. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Lila enjoyed going up to her trailer at Chaudoir's Dock in Namur, bowling, and going to high school sports with her son. She worked at the Younkers Distribution Center for the last 14 years, never missing a day of work until her illness. Lila was past president of the Eagles Club Auxillary Aerie 401 and past vice president of the Olde North Neighborhood Association.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ken Wyckoff, Green Bay; one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy (Chris) Gierczak, Green Bay; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark Wyckoff and special friend Julie Monfort, Denmark, Tom (Kristy) Wyckoff, Green Bay; five grandchildren, Karlee and Kaycee Gierczak, Camden Wyckoff, Shannon Wyckoff and Brandon (Sarah) Wyckoff; the family is expecting one great grandchild soon; one sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice (Gordon) Petersen, Denmark; one brother and sister-in-law, Roland (Sue) DeVillers, Sobeiski; nieces and nephews.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William (Agatha) Wyckoff; two sisters-in-law, Carol Jean Wyckoff and Florence Wyckoff; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation at MALCORE Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird Street, Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. and prior to the funeral on Saturday. Eagles Auxillary service 6:30 p.m. Friday. Parish wake service 6:45 p.m. Friday. Funeral Saturday 11 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Church with the Rev. Thomas Farrell officiating.
Lila's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff of Green Bay Oncology, especially Dr. Gerald Bayer, Dr. Steven Kim and his nurse, Suzanne, as well as the staff of St. Vincent Hospital 9th floor, St. Vincent Hospital Valet, Unity Hospice, and Fr. Tom Farrell and Sister Loretta Beyer of Saints Peter and Paul Church.
