Funeral services for Barbara Ann Chase, age 53, currently residing in Heuvelton, will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Wesleyan Church in Heuvelton with Pastor David Norman officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to funeral services at Cornerstone Wesleyan Church starting at 12:00 noon. Mrs. Chase passed away on Wednesday evening, August 9, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Barb is survived by her husband, Rodney Chase; four daughters, Rebecca and Phillip Showen and their children, Taylor and Jared Showen of Brushton, Cammie and Larry Bouchey and their two children, Averee and Evan Bouchey of Lisbon, Andrea and Ian Lalonde and their three children, Seth Martel, Jacie and Johnny Lalonde of Ogdensburg, and Alicia Duvall of Ogdensburg; four brothers, Lyle James and companion, Casie Caldwell of Heuvelton, Bob James and companion Georgiana Christman of Heuvelton, Doug and Tina James of Lisbon, and Greg James of Heuvelton; and nieces and nephews and many other close friends and family.
Barb was born on February 6, 1964, the daughter of Eleanor Chambers James and the late Walter James. She graduated from Heuvelton Central School. Barb married Rodney Chase on August 24, 1996, the United Methodist Church in Heuvelton. She worked at the Dollar General in Canton for eleven years until becoming ill.
Barb enjoyed camping, gardening and collecting rocks. She was an avid bowler at Heuvelton Lanes.
