Diane L. (Ciciora) Sherman, age 50, of Mukwonago, WI (formerly of Valparaiso, IN) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 after a 15-year battle with breast cancer.
Diane was a 1984 graduate of Valparaiso High School and a 1988 graduate of Marian University in Indianapolis, earning a BA degree in Early Childhood and K-3 education. She started her teaching career in the Indianapolis Public Schools. She put her career on hold and was a stay at home mom for 11 years devoting her time to raising her family. She returned to teaching with the Mukwonago Area School District, where she was a kindergarten aid, Title I instructor and finally a teacher of her beloved first graders.
Diane is survived by her husband Jim, her son Conor of Renton, WA and daughter Kamryn, her mother Marge Ciciora of Valparaiso, IN and her brother Dale (Cindy) Ciciora, her niece Andrea (Travis) Boden, her nephew Drew Ciciora and great nephews, Lucas and Caleb, all of Orange County, CA.
She is preceded in death by her father Dale, her brothers Mark and Brian as well as her grandparents.
The family requests that memorial remembrance contributions be made payable to Brooklife Church, noting the “Diane Sherman Memorial” on all checks. All contributions will be used to benefit the interests of the children at Clarendon Avenue Elementary School, whom she dearly loved.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at RiverGlen Christian Church, S31 W30601 Sunset Dr (Town of Genesee), Waukesha, WI 53189. A visitation will be held starting at 9AM until the time of service.
