Betty P. Griggs, 63, of New Lexington, Ohio died Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio after injuries from an automobile accident.

Born May 5, 1954 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late L.P. and Lola Delph Clontz.

Betty was the director of several assisted living facilities in the area; she opened the Clay House in Zanesville and worked at the Rockmill Nursing Home and Assisted Living in Lancaster; she was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister.
Survived by her husband, Michael Griggs; granddaughters, Drea C. Griggs and Nola Cotton; sister, Phyllis Clontz (Don) Crawford; mother-in-law, Shirley Griggs; sister-in-law, Tina (Terry) Lucas; daughter-in-law, Amanda Griggs; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
In addition to her parents, preceded in death by 2 sons, Derek Griggs on November 25, 2006 and Christopher Griggs on October 28, 2011; grandson, Tyler Griggs and a brother, Buddy (Verdie) Clontz.
Calling hours will be held from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the funeral home with Rick Cline officiating.

Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at the Saint Rose Parish Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Saint Rose School, 119 West Water Street, New Lexington, Ohio 43764.
