Victoria Police have confirmed human remains found at Mount Macedon on Monday are that of missing Avondale Heights woman Karen Ristevski.
Investigators said they received the results after forensic testing this afternoon.
Ms Ristevski, 47, was last seen at her home on Oakley Drive in Avondale Heights on June 29 last year.
She had not used her mobile phone or bank accounts, or made contact with friends or family since that time.
Her body was found by a member of the public in bushland off Loch Road at Mount Macedon about 12:30pm on Monday.

Police conducted a line search at the scene today and SES crews scoured bushland where her decomposed body was found.
Missing Persons Squad detectives have appealed for anyone that may have walked along the dirt track off Loch Road, or anyone that may have seen any vehicles in the area, to contact them.
Investigators said they were also looking to speak to anyone that may have been at Mount Macedon any time from June last year and took photos or shot video in the area.
In December, police searched properties at Toolern Vale and Gisbourne, about 30 kilometres from the Macedon site, as part of their investigation into her disappearance.
Ms Ristevski's disappearance was described as "highly irregular" at the time and happened after an argument with her husband.
Her husband Borce Ristevski and her stepson Anthony Rickard were interviewed by police but no charges were laid.
Ms Ristevski worked at the family's retail business at the Watergardens Shopping Centre.
Anyone with information has been urged to call Crime Stoppers.
