Richard "Dick" E. Keefer, 78, of Buffalo Grove, formerly of Algonquin, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
He was born on July 11, 1939 in Wellsboro, PA the son of Earnest G. & Gertrude (Nunan) Keefer.Dick was member of the St. Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin. He served in the United States Air Force, he was employed by Motorola for most of his career retiring in 2002. Dick was a member of the Algonquin Lions Club for many years.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelly (James) Donato of Arlington Heights; a son, Michael Keefer of Mt. Prospect; and a brother, Robert (Terry) Keefer, Wilmington, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Barbara in 2016.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin. Burial will follow in the Algonquin Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin.
Memorials may be given to the Algonquin Lions Club.
