Miss Mary Garrety Dead.
Miss Mary Garrety, a sister of Frank and Dick Garrety died at St. Francis hospital at Wichita Sunday afternoon. She had been operated upon for appendicitis Friday. The news of her death came as a surprise and shock to those who knew her here, where she had visited but a short time ago. Fifteen days before her death she attended the Elk's dance in Winfield. Two evenings before she went to the hospital she was in the receiving line of a party of the Young Ladies Sodality of St. Joseph's church in Wichita. Apparently in bounding health at the time, none of her friends suspected that before another week they would be called to her funeral.
