Born in Liberty, SC, she was first married to the late Melvin Henry Searcy, then to the late James Arnold Wells and was the widow of the late Ernest Harold Greene. She retired from retail management working at United Five and Ten and Eleanor Shops and was a member of Providence Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher and Youth Leader. She was a member emeritus of the Order of Eastern Star, Canaveral Chapter and former member of The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Ladies’ Oriental Shrine of North America, Inc., Daughters of the Nile and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are two daughters, Jill Searcy Bramlett and husband, Craig of Gaffney and Jane Searcy Doherty of Myrtle Beach; a sister, Hazel Patterson Andrews of Lincolnton, NC; four grandchildren, Alanda K. Travis and husband, Karl of Myrtle Beach, Alexis K. Foster and husband, Erik, Cameron V. Bramlett, and Courtney R. Bramlett, all of Gaffney; a great-grandchild, Zander Foster; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Patterson, Robert Patterson and Dewey Patterson and four sisters, Alice Patterson, Irene Patterson Owens, Mary Patterson Watson and Frances Patterson Summey.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Scott Peterson officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
