Elizabeth Hampton Love, 87, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Life Care Center of Red Bank.

She was born in Chattanooga, on Aug. 21, 1929, to the late Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Hampton. She attended Girls Preperatory School and graduated from the University of Chattanooga with a bachelor's degree in Art. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

She was a life long member of the First Christian Church. She served as president of the Women in the Church and was a member of the Garden Club of Signal Mountain.

Elizabeth was employed by The Briar Patch, Fisher Evans, T.H. Payne and Proffitt's.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison M. Love, Jr., parents, William and Elizabeth Hampton, son-in-law Alan R. Williamson, and great granddaughter, Chloe Carter.

She is survived by her children, Loretta Love Spears of Murfreesboro, TN, Beth Love Williamson of Brentwood, TN, and Emily Love (Dee) Carter of Clearwater, FL, grandchildren, Justin Carter, Clint Spears, Matt Williamson, Ben Williamson, Seth Williamson, Amy Williamson Zerner, Sara Williamson Hamrick, and her brother Carter Gray Hampton; great grandchildren, Lainey, Jordan, John Taylor, Luke, Nora, and Grayson.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, August 11, at First Christian Church (650 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37403) with Rev. Brandon Gilvin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 12:30 prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow Chattanooga National Cemetery.
