Funeral services for Charles B. Driscoll, noted newspaper columnist and author, who died Monday morning at Yonkers, N.Y., at the age of 65, will be held Saturday morning in St. Mary's cathedral.
He started his newspaper career with the Wichita Eagle in 1912 and later became an editor. The famed reporter became known as an authority on pirates and buried treasure after writing several novels on those topics.
Mr. Driscoll is survived by his wife, Jeanie, and two daughters. Mrs. Mary McKee, Orinda, California, and Mrs. Patricia Schadle, Logan, Utah. They will arrive here Friday for the funeral services the following day.
Msgr. William M. Farrell and Msgr. John Butler, rector of St. Mary's, will conduct the service. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
