Evelyn Whitlow Marshall, 88, of Double Bridges Rd., Spout Spring, died Thursday, August 10, 2017, in Carriage Hill, Bedford. She was the wife of the late Joseph Winfred Marshall, Sr.
Born in Crewe, Va., on October 3, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Kathleen Blanton and Henry Edward Whitlow. She was a member of Reedy Spring Baptist Church and retired from General Electric.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Diane Marshall of Forest, Va., Joseph Jr. and Nanci Lee Marshall of Broad Run, Va., and Michael Sr. and Tammy Marshall of Concord, Va.; seven grandchildren: Allen Sr. and wife, Donna Marshall of Ridgeland, SC, Brandon and wife, Hilari Marshall of Midlothian, Va., Barbie and husband, Jimmy Hayes of Spout Spring, Va., Lindsay Marshall and husband, Hayden Ausland of Tualatin, Ore., Kyle and wife, Ashely Marshall Scottsdale, Ariz., Jennifer and husband, Joey Sandvig of Forest, Va., Michael Jr. and fiancée, Hannah Kesmodel of Earlysville, Va.; and seven great grandchildren, Allen Jr., Jordan, Christian, Leevi, Evan, Tatum, and Trace.
She was the last surviving member of her family; predeceased by six brothers, Lindsey (Rudy) Whitlow, Morton Whitlow, Henry (Bally) Whitlow, Malon (Pete) Whitlow, Wayne Whitlow, and Randolph (R L) Whitlow and five sisters, Nancy DeJarnette, Camille DeJarnette, Kathleen Jewell, Elizabeth Whitlow, and Virginia Carwile.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Reedy Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. Dan Davis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home.
