Samuel Norris Sr. passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his home. He was born January 8, 1928 in Chiefland, FL to the late Melton and Ossie Norris. He's preceded in death by his four siblings. A retired farmer, he was a member of Greater Bell United Methodist Church, Brooker, FL.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Beria Norris; sons, Franklin (Elizabeth) Moore, Samuel (Maudell) Norris Jr., Alphonso (Jeanette) Norris, Carl Norris (Carolyn), and only daughter Irma (Louis) Galloway; 16 grandchildren, 26 great -grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; 4 sister-in-laws, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Jerusalem Church Of God By Faith, 1230 NE 156th Ave. Gainesville, FL, Elder Duane Gainey is Pastor, Rev. Mary Jackson is Eulogist. Burial will be in Rhuta Branch Cemetery. Viewing on Friday 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME 727 NW 2nd St. Gainesville, FL and Saturday at the church 9:00 am - 10 am. No Viewing after Eulogy. The cortege will form 9:15 am at Mr. & Mrs. Samuel Norris home.
