Kathryn "Kaye" Eisenhower Morgan, 82, of Arroyo Grande, California, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 7, 2017, at her daughter Tracy Groshong and her husband's home in Grover Beach, California. Kaye was born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, on September 20, 1934. Growing up as the niece of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and while attending Penn State University, she liked to be anonymous to see who her real friends were. Kaye was married to Elbridge "Tom" Sawyer Morgan for over 20 years and raised four children. Her greatest joy was her faith in God and her children. Throughout her entire life, she thoroughly enjoyed helping people and donating her spare time and helping the community. Kaye's many activities included volunteering at Meals on Wheels in Tucson, Ariz. in the late 70s, counseling troubled teens in Phoenix, Ariz., volunteering at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Fountain Hills, Ariz., joining and becoming Regent at the Four Peaks Chapter of D.A.R., participating in programs to feed the homeless in the 5-Cities area in San Luis Obispo County, Calif., being editor and historian for several community organizations, volunteering at the California State Parks Nature Center, and Butterfly Grove in Pismo Beach, Calif., to most recently being a deacon moderator and then an elder at Coastal Community Church in Grover Beach, and other activities too numerous to mention. In her later years, her favorite pastimes were enjoying her family and friends for a good burger and beer, and walking the boardwalk in Grover Beach with her little "taco bell" dog, Beau. She could always be seen waving and chatting with people in her floppy hat. Kaye retired from and worked for over 20 years as a department/program manager in the computer division of the Motorola Government Electronics Complex in Scottsdale, Arizona. She traveled the world researching and studying her family genealogy and history. After retiring in the late 90s, she wrote and published two books about her family life and travels. Kaye is survived by her three children: Tracy Groshong and husband Don, Karla Tingley and Michael David Morgan and wife Tammy; her grandchildren: Robin Pelcher (husband Rob), Nicole Groshong, Deanna Tingley, Eric Stenglein (wife Janice), Derin Stenglein (wife Holly), Troy Stenglein, Timothy Morgan, Phillip Morgan and Barbara Robles; her great-grandchildren: Bree and Cole Pelcher; Eric Jr. and Ruby Stenglein; niece Kim Dwire (husband Mike); nephews: Kirk Morgan (wife Landi) and Barry Eisenhower; and the rest of her family and friends. Kaye is preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn Snyder Eisenhower and Earl Dewey Eisenhower; her brother Earl Eisenhower; and her son, Thomas "Tommy" Wendell Morgan. The family wishes to thank Dignity Health Hospice and Coastal Community Church for their services and compassionate help. No funeral services will be held and a Celebration of Life gathering will be planned for later this year. Sign her guestbook at sanluisobispo.com/obituaries
