Kim F. Jones, 70 years of age, passed away unexpectedly Monday August 7, 2017 at UH-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Akron, Ohio on May 2, 1947, he was the son of the late Robert T. and Jennie R. (Wileman) Jones.

A 1968 graduate of Hoban High School, Mr. Jones then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era as a medic, earning both a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Following his honorable discharge, he then attended and graduated from Akron University in 1978 with a degree in Mechancial Technology. He had been employed at HTS in Chagrin Falls for 18 years until his retirement in 2015.

A resident of Mantua since 1974, Mr. Jones was a volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity in Kent, where he used his numerous mechanical talents to repair different items for sale. An avid reader, his woodworking skills were evident in the home that he and his wife built together, and shared their love in creating and maintaining. A loving husband, and father, his devotion to family and the times spent with his five grandchildren have created lasting memories for those who remain following his passing.

On December 19, 1970, he married his beloved wife Elaine F. (Jackson) Jones who survives at their residence. Also surviving are his devoted children Brian (Mandy) Jones of Dublin, Ohio, Robert (Nicole) Jones of San Francisco, California and Rebecca (Andrew) Hysing of Hiram, Ohio; his dear siblings Kevin (Carole) Jones of Brunswick, Ohio, Kerry (Kathie) Jones of Medina, Ohio, Kregg (Rose) Jones of Jackson, Mississippi, Karrin (Cliff) Gossett of San Antonio, Texas and Kylamarie (Greg) Magyar of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and his loving grandchildren Isabel, Gavin, Jackson, Samuel and Mira.

Calling hours will be Friday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, where his funeral service will be held Saturday August 12, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Final resting place will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Mantua Village, Ohio where military honors will be observed by members of the United States Army Honor Guard Team.
