Kathleen Locklear Dial Brooks, age 61, of Polkton, departed this life to be with Jesus Christ, her Savior, on Monday, August 7, 2017. She was born May 25, 1956 in Robeson County to the late Zebbie Locklear, Jr. and the late Louise Maynor Locklear Perry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, JC Brooks; four brothers: Charles Maynor, Jessie Maynor, David Locklear, and Richard Locklear; and one sister, Phyllis Maynor Holmes.
She is survived by three sons: Johnny Dial (Sheila), Richard Dial (Alicia), and Donny Dial (Melissa), all of Wadesboro; seven grandchildren: Morgan Dial, Nikili Dial, Katelyn Dial, Aliayha Jackson, Cameron Dial, Brooke Shaw, and Madalyn Shaw; one great-grandchild, Hadley Johnson; four brothers: Johnny Locklear (Letha), Kelvin Locklear (Sheila), Joe Locklear, Danny Locklear (Debbie); two sisters: Rhonda Maynor (James) and Vivian Lambert (Lacy); and her very dedicated caregivers: Kathy “Ma” Stroud Jackson, Melinda Jackson Garris, Melissa Stubbs, and the staff of Hospice.
A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2017, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Morning Star Community Church in Lumberton. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens.
