Surviving are her children, Amy Lane of Elkhart, Scott Kistler of Michigan City and Timothy Kistler of Fishers; brothers Herb and Kenny Fritz of Elkhart; grandchildren Danielle (Nick) Grimm, Blake, Grant and Rachel Kistler, Aaron Lane, Calvin Nugent and Shawna Nissley; and special friend and caregiver Ron Johnson of Goshen.
In accordance with her wishes, Sharon’s remains will be placed with her late husband Robert at the Veteran’s Towers in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
The Augustana Lutheran Church, 1133 Kilbourne Ave., Elkhart, is honored to host Sharon’s memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017. The Rev. Steve Reshan will officiate and Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
Sharon worked as an optician for Dr. Rae’s office in Goshen for many years. She also belonged to the Elkhart Women of the Moose chapter and enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandchildren at their sporting and music events. She also liked to visit with her long-time friends and church family.
She was also an avid animal lover, so, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
