Charles was a longtime dairy farmer in the Thurmont area. He enjoyed farming, the animals, playing cards and spending time with his family. He resided with his aunt, Lola Harbaugh, in New Midway for many years from the age of 16.
Surviving are sisters, Mary Smith and husband Roy F. Sr. of Rocky Ridge and June Bowers and husband William of Glenwood; 3 nieces, Shelly and Cheryl Clingan and Julie Rice; 3 great nieces, Christina Fogle and Delaney and Kalyn Rice and special cousin, Mary E. Crabbs and husband Donald. He will also be remembered by caring neighbors, Greg and Rose Clegg and former brother-in-law, Robert Clingan. Charles was predeceased by sister, Virginia Ann Baugher and brother, Richard Lee Baugher.
The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, Thursday, August 10 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. when a graveside service will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Woodsboro. Rev. Dahl Drenning will officiate.
