James G. Button, Jr., 51, of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer. Jim was born on October 4, 1963 in Norwich, NY. Jim was a local handyman for several years, doing carpentry and odd jobs. He had a gift for fixing just about anything and enjoyed being able to help people with his talents. He loved fishing, bow hunting and NASCAR, cheering for Jeff Gordon. Jim liked to garden and woodwork, and excelled at horseshoes, and was known to tell a joke or two, as well as spend time with his many friends at the Hideaway. He was a tough man with a kind soul who will be dearly missed.Jim is survived by his children, grandchildren, his mother, siblings, as well as, numerous aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Jim was predeceased by his step-father who raised him, Richard Condon, and his brother, Randy Condon. Friends are invited to call from 3:00-5:00pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney. Burial in Sand Hill Cemetery, Wells Bridge, will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr. Oneonta, NY 13820. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.landersfh.com.
