Dora E. Ward (Nee Maynard) entered into Eternity with our Lord on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the age of almost 100 years. She was born on August 24, 1917 in Trenary, MI to Rufus and Laura (nee Finch) Maynard.
She was a strong, assertive woman who loved her family completely and unconditionally. Throughout her life her patience, wisdom, deep empathy, caring and kindness were obvious both in her profession as a Registered Nurse (retired in 1975) and calling as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Dora is survived by her children Michael & Karen Ward, Vicky & Ken Schneider, Ronnie & Lance Decker and Greg Ward & Andy Graff; grandchildren, John Ward, Josh & Nikki Ward, Susan & Stefano Caravella, Sara & Dustin Rodriguez, Laura & Joel Tubman and Jennifer & Scott Cyr; great-grandchildren, Faith and Marisela Rodriguez, Michael Ward, Eden Caravella, Ian, Noah & Conner Cyr and Nathaniel Tubman.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rufus & Laura Maynard, her husband Edward F. Ward; bothers, Grant, Paul, Charles and Francis and baby Colleen Renee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 11, 2017 at St. Louis the King Catholic Church (264 Silver Creek Road, Marquette, MI 49855) with Father Glenn Theoret presiding. Visitation will be at the CHURCH from 10AM until the time of service. Interment will be at Parks Cemetery in Marquette MI.
