On-line researched obituary information: Roberta Alsbrooks was of of 400 Webber Road, Spartanburg, S. C. & died Oct. 3, 1998, in White Oak Estates nursing home. She was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church in Spartanburg.

A native of Shaws Crossroads, Sumter County, S. C., she was the widow of Alva Wilkins Alsbrooks and daughter of the late Walter Columbus Johnson and Roberta Pringle Johnson; she was a class of 1928 (https://www.edmundshigh.com/alumni.html?x=info&c=28) graduate of Sumter High School (pictures from that yearbook posted on her memorial...at graduation, her middle name was Pringle & she must have later dropped Pringle and substituted Lee). Survivors include two sons, Alva W. Alsbrooks Jr. of Charleston (died a few years later) and David Walter Alsbrooks; two daughters, Robi Pringle Poston of Charleston and Peggy Slaughter of Sugar Grove, N.C.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island, conducted by the Rev. Tom Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, 29304. Floyd's North Church Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
