Lloyd “L.B.” Brinton Ratcliff, Jr.
L.B. Ratcliff, Jr., 74, of Gist, passed away on August 6, 2017 at home after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 11, 2017, at New Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Gist, Texas. Officiating will be Jeremy Walton. Burial will follow at Eaves Cemetery in Gist.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, August 10, 2017, at New Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Gist.

Born in Gist, Texas, on April 7, 1943, he was the son of Lloyd Brinton Ratcliff and Loreine Menard Ratcliff. L.B. was a retired lifetime member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and horses. He loved camping, fishing, farming, gardening, and anything to do with outdoors. He was very involved with his church where he was a Sunday School Administrator. Everyone lovingly referred to him as a world renowned negotiator. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Kenneth Ratcliff, Gloria Ratcliff, and Vera Ratcliff; nephew, Jason Ratcliff; and niece, Rachel Clark.

He is survived by his wife, Paulette Ratcliff; children, David Ratcliff and wife, Dana, and Donna Williamson and husband, Lee; step-son, Ronnie Raley and wife, Tracie; grandchildren, Brittany Ratcliff, Brinton Ratcliff, Garrett Williamson and wife, Lauren, Caleb Williamson, Aaron Ratcliff, Ashley Steele and husband, Carlys, Dillon Simmons, and Casey Raley; great-grandchildren, Olivia Williamson, Owen Williamson, Carsyn Steele, and Caselynn Raley; siblings, Jimmy Ratcliff, Marti Tillerson, and Theresa Ratcliff; nieces and nephews, Kenny Ratcliff and wife, Suzette, Shannon Ratcliff and wife, Shana, Shawna Nash, Kim Victor and husband, Donnie, James Bland, Chasity Thibodeaux, Keith Martinez, and Kirk Martinez and wife, Lisa; and many more extended family members.

Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Ratcliff, Kevin Menard, Louis Menard, Doyle Menard, Jr., Kirk Martinez, and Casey Raley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to New Cherry Grove Baptist Church at 114 Co Rd 826, Buna, TX 77612.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Affinity Hospice and Dee Watson for their excellent care and service.
