Byron Neil (Bear) Bryant, age 77, of Genoa, Arkansas, died Sunday, August 6, 2017. He was born October 29, 1939, in Miller County, Arkansas and had been a lifetime resident.

He was a 1957 graduate of Genoa Central High School and a 1963 graduate of Henderson State Teachers College. He coached and taught high school for fifty years at Genoa Central. He was a member of Boyd Union Church, the Arkansas Coach’s Hall of Fame and the Arkansas Track and Field Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy L. and Alice Mills Bryant, brothers Oris Paul Kelly, and Gary Lynn Bryant, and a daughter, Brenda Ann Bryant.
