Major League Baseball Player. Born in La Rue, Texas, he made his debut as an outfielder for the Chicago White Sox on September 1, 1927. He was a consistent hitter who played for the Chicago White Sox, 1927 to 1931, Washington Senators in 1932, 1936, St. Louis Browns in 1933, Boston Red Sox, 1934 to 1935 and Chicago Cubs, 1937 to 1939. He ended his 13 season career with 1357 hits, 80 home runs 699 runs batted in and a .302 batting average.
