Ruth Ann Carter

Ruth Ann Carter, age 84 and resident of Atwater, California, joined the love of her life Tom Carter and oldest daughter Becky Walker-Landstrom in heaven on November 13th, 2012. She was born in Wardner, Idaho to parents Francis E and Bernadine Hagan on July 6, 1928.
While later living in Coeru d'alene, Idaho she met a young sailor and waited for him to finish his Pacific tour during WWII and her 18th birthday before she could get married on July 20, 1946. They moved to Atwater, California enjoying 63 years of marriage and the birth of two daughters, Rebecca and Christine.
Ruth worked 23 years at the Merced Regional Office for Farmers Insurance and retired in 1987. They spent months at a time traveling in their travel trailer seeing the mid-west and western United States. She enjoyed making beautiful quilts, cross-stitching and photography.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ed and Chris Chambers, granddaughters Denise Law and Sonia Walker, great-grandchildren Kourtney and Kevin McClain, Bethany Tripp, Thomas and Raymond Marx, a niece Carol Stephens-Cornett, and sister-in-law June Brown.
Graveside services will be at the Winton District Cemetery, Winton, California on Tuesday November 20th, 2012 at 1:00. Arrangements are under the direction of Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Eric Disbrow MD for his loving hugs and concern for our mom and his staff at Atwater Medical. Also the wonderful care from everyone at Hinds Hospice of Merced and Terrie's TLC Senior care which allowed her to spend her last weeks comfortably at home with her kitty by her side.
