He was born February 15, 1931 in Gay, WV, the son of the late Cyril and Ethel Tolley Rhodes.
Bob was a 1949 graduate of Ripley High School and served his country in the Army Reserves. He was a Lab Technician for Foote Mineral Corporation with 36 years of service and in 1962 was a founding member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ripley. Bob had many interests and enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling and spending time with the Airstream Club and Snow Birding in the South. He had a love for music and enjoyed singing.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jane Hart Rhodes; proud father of his son Marc Rhodes of Atlanta, GA and his daughter Melody Blair of Atlanta, GA; he was the proud grandfather of Abigail and Joshua Blair, both of Atlanta.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Jo Anna Rhodes.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Rick Perrine and Claire Butler officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
