Duane's long and courageous fight against cancer ended Tues., April 26, 2005. Duane was 49 years old. He is survived by his wife, Teri; brother, John; sisters, Sherry and Ann and their families, along with many other relatives and friends.

He spent his entire life in journalism, most of it in Milwaukee. Duane was employed as a reporter for WISN-TV, Channel 12 and previously served as news director/anchor at WZTV, Channel 18. He also worked for TV stations in Green Bay and Wausau and in radio in Milwaukee at WBCS and WLPX, along with stations in Oshkosh and LaCrosse. He was a graduate of UW-Green Bay and Union Grove High School.

Duane was a passionate advocate for cancer research and was willing to share his struggle in order to lend support to other cancer victims and draw attention to important work being done to combat the disease. A memorial fund is being established to provide journalism scholarships. Gifts are appreciated and can be written to the Duane Gay Memorial Fund.

Visitation at the Funeral Home Sun., May 1, 2-5 PM. Funeral Service Mon., May 2 at 11 AM at Grace Church, 3626 Hwy. 31, Racine. Private burial.

Duane inspired us to laugh, to venture and to love much deeper.
