Born in Ohio, Dave and his sister, Donna Ross danced into Lockport; grasped the hands of their partners, Kathleen Broderick and Joe McCarthy, and never let go.
Dave was a United States Navy Korean War Veteran. He was a member of the Lockport V.F.W. Post #1557, the Lockport Lions Club as well as a member and past president of the Will County Dental Society.
In 1960, Dave opened his dental practice in downtown Lockport. His son, Tom, runs the practice today.
Dave was an avid golfer, Chicago Bears and White Sox fan; and will be remembered as a cunning linguist with superb timing of punch lines.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Kathleen (Broderick) Ross; his son, Tom Ross, D.D.S.; his grand-daughters, Darcy and Casey Ross; his brother, Joe (Diana) Ross; and a sister, Jonelle Taylor. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Dave preceded in death by his sons, David J. Ross and Infant Robert Ross; his parents, Gilbert J. and Dora A. (Skelley) Ross; his sister, Donna McCarthy; and his brother, Dennis Ross.
Arrangements entrusted to the O'Neil Funeral Home, Lockport. Deacon Dennis Stolarz officiating.
Interment with Full Military Honors, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
