For more than eleven years, Shirley was employed in the salesroom at Tru-Stitch Footwear, in Malone. Prior to Tru-Stitch Footwear, she was employed by Montgomery Wards, and in the Malone Central Schools cafeteria. She retired in 1996. Shirley also volunteered for the J.C.E.O. Foster Grandparent Program.
She was a past member of the Malone Women of the Moose. She served on the Board of Directors for the Maplewood Cemetery Association and held the positions of Secretary and Treasurer. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
On November 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Clarence M. Andrews, at St. John Bosco Church, in Malone. He predeceased her on June 11, 1980.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Malark of Burke, NY., one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Monica Beebe, Jr. of Malone, NY., two sons-in-law, Robert Bonville of Brushton, NY., and Michael Gale of Lockport, NY., five grandchildren, Robert Bonville and his wife, Christie of Brushton, NY., Michael Bonville and his wife Sally of Moira, NY., Lori Burnett and her companion, Doug Lloyd of Malone, NY., Samantha Nadon and her husband Ruskin of Moira, NY., and Brittany Gale of New Fane, NY. Six great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her faithful companion, her cat Kitty.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Linda Bonville on July 5, 2016, and Judy Gale on May 27, 1992, a son-in-law, William “Bill“ Malark on September 26, 2001, and three grandchildren, Christine, William and Cindy Malark on January 14, 1981.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, in Malone, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in St. John Bosco Cemetery, in Malone, NY.
