Cristine L. Karm of Palatine Cristine L. Karm, a former longtime resident of Arlington Heights, was born on June 2, 1952, in Elgin, Ill., to Paul and Dorothy (nee Schoepke) Gehrig. She died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. Cris worked for the Archdiocese of Chicago for the last 11 years and was most recently the senior administrative assistant to Bishop George J. Rassas. Cris was very active at St. Mary Parish, where she was a cantor and a member of the choir for 25 years. She loved music and was an outstanding cook. Cris is survived by her husband of 39 years, Guy M. Karm; her children Amanda M. and Mark S. Karm; her siblings, Steven (Karen) Gehrig, Nancy (Daniel) Kennedy and Janet (Thomas) Ries; her nieces, Kathryn Kennedy, Madeline Kennedy, Anna Kennedy, Sarah Ries, Julie Ries and nephew, Robert Ries; and her beloved mother-in-law, Lorraine Kelly. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her nephew, Brendan Kennedy.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Mary Catholic Parish, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Emblem Cemetery.
