Catherine was the daughter of Nicholas and Anna de Nully Cruger. She married William Bard on October 7, 1802 in Trinity Church, Manhattan, New York and they took up residence in Hyde Park, New York where her husband's father had deeded them a large estate. Catherine also had received a large fortune from her grandmother, Madame du Nully of San Croix, West Indies.
They sold this home and property about 1826 and moved to Manhattan and subsequently to Staten Island, New York. William and Catharine Cruger Bard were the parents of the following children: Samuel, Anne who married Edward Prime, Caroline, Mary, Catherine, Susan who married Ferdinand Sands, Bertram, John, Mary, second, Cruger and Nathaniel P.
Catherine passed away October 14, 1868, fifteen years after her husband, on Staten Island and lies with him in the Bard family vault at St. Mark's Churchyard on the Bowery.
