Graveside Services for Mr. Hugh Monroe Smith, Jr., 92, will be held at 3:00 P. M. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 with Reverend Jimmy Alford officiating. Burial will be in Rushing Cemetery.

Mr. Smith passed away at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, Louisiana on Saturday, August 5, 2017. He was born April 26, 1925 to the late Hugh and Angie Hughes Smith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Doris Mae Alford Smith; daughter Amy Lynn Smith; great-granddaughter Victoria Fortenberry; and 25 brothers and sisters.

He was of the Baptist Faith and had served in the U S Navy during World War II. Mr. Smith was self-employed carpet salesman and installer. He enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Survivors include his children Angie (Dickie) Foil, Hugh (Mary Jane) Smith III, Becky Stogner, and Rick Smith; grandchildren Bo (Jackie) Foil, Lisa (Wes) Bickford, Wendy (Josh) Warren, Tiffany (Wayne) Nunez, Jeremy (Krystal) Stogner, Ashley (Timmy) Burns, Jordan Smith, and Jake Smith; ten great-grandchildren; sister Mary Estess; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Smith, Justin Warren, Jeremy Stogner, Jake Smith, Bo Foil, and David Alford.

Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M
