Ruby Jennings Perry, 103, of Brenham, died August 4, 2017, in Brenham. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017, at the funeral home. A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2017, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont.

Ruby was born in Bellevue, Ohio, to the late Homer and Laura Michael Kistler. She was baptized at Magnolia Avenue Baptist Church in Bellevue. In 1938, she and her husband Jim Jennings moved from Clyde, Ohio, to Beaumont, Texas. She was active in the PTA, Lioness Club, Calder Baptist Church and was division manager of the infant's department at Sears in Beaumont until she retired.

Just before her 90th birthday, Ruby moved to Brenham, where she was a member of the Joy Class at Brenham First Baptist Church and volunteered for the HOST program at Krause Elementary School for three years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Jennings; second husband, Woodrow Perry; brothers: Harold, Robert, and Jack Kistler; and sisters, Thelma Kay and LaDonna Clawson.

Survivors include her daughter, Mona Sue Anger and husband, Bill, of Brenham; son, Jim Jennings and wife, Carolyn Nichols Jennings, of Norcross, GA; grandchildren: Paula Betts and husband, Bill, Todd Jennings and wife, Jalana, and Tricia Barrett and husband, Tim; great-grandchildren: Cayte Neil and husband, Matt, Will Betts and wife, Kaleigh, Kinsley and Kade Jennings, and Sarah Grace and Adeline Barrett; great-great-grandchildren, Beckett and Dinah Grace Neil; step-daughters: Debbie Adkins and husband, Guy, Charlene Neal and husband, Bob, and Donna Campbell.
