Janice (Dame) Crawford, 83, of Jonesboro died Thursday, August 3, 2017, at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born November 22, 1933, at Monette to Walter and Elma (Wallace) Dame.

Along with her husband, they founded James Crawford Construction in 1958. Janice was a long-term member of Southwest Church of Christ. In addition to being a full-time homemaker, she was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Civitan Club. She enjoyed quilt club, sewing, crafts, and was passionate about her flea marketing and junking.

Although petite in stature, Janice was a strong, feisty, determined, courageous woman, who cared foremost for her family and friends, and will be remembered for putting others first.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James E. Crawford, Sr.; an infant daughter, Judy Lynn Crawford; and two sisters, Lee Dame and Phyllis Stansell.

She is survived by her son, James (Kerry) Crawford, Jr. of Pocahontas; two daughters, Jane Crawford (Dwayne Wilkerson) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Joyce (Ken) Mitchell of Jonesboro; one brother, Jim (Pam) Brooks; one sister, Viva Grider; grandchildren, Jared Stidman, Jonathan Stidman, and Jason Stidman, all of Jonesboro, and Annie Berger Crawford of London, England, James ''Trip'' Crawford III, Julia Crawford, and Jacob Crawford, all of Jonesboro

Funeral service will be at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington, Jonesboro, on Tuesday, August 8th at 11:00am with Jimmy Adcox officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the funeral home, Monday, 5:00-7:00pm. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
