Marilyn was born in Sharon on Nov. 16, 1947, the daughter of the late Stanley Buchanan Sr. and Helen (Bergstrom) Buchanan. She was a 1965 graduate of Sharon High School and served her country in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. She had worked as a cook at various area restaurants. Marilyn was a member of the Shenango Valley VFW Post 1338 and the Sharon American Legion Post 299. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Sharon First United Methodist Church. She married Willie P. Dickey on March 29, 1969.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Buchanan, and her brothers, Stanley "Skip" Buchanan Jr. and Kenneth Buchanan.
