Rodney will always be remembered for his quick wit and joyous personality.

Prior to his illness he was a master salesman in the automobile industry. Rodney was a light and inspiration to all of our lives and he left us far too soon. He will be sorely and profoundly missed but his presence will forever be felt.

Surviving family members include one son, Rodney E. Hughes, II; three daughters, Tamesha Debose (Gabriel), Sonavia and Bianca Hughes; mother, Evelyn Hughes; two brothers, Kevin Hughes and Frank Hughes (Renea); aunt, Sylvester L. Bossard; uncle, Willis E. Hughes (Dorothy); many cousins, among them his favorite, Richie B. Flucker (Adam) and a myriad of treasured friends in Atlanta, Jacksonville and Altamonte Springs, FL.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:00 noon at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 2730 W. Edgewood Avenue, and Pastor Frank Marshall officiating. The family will receive friends at 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service at the sanctuary.
