Larry James Kercheval, age 59, of Kirklin, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, August 4, 2017 at his home in Kirklin, surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 26, 1958 in Frankfort, Indiana, he was the son of the late James Everett and Dorothy Ann (Lester) Kercheval.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Lynn (Lewis) Kercheval. She and Larry were married on January 25, 2003. Also surviving are his son, Michael Shane Houston of Kirklin; 2 daughters, Ashlee Nichole Kercheval-Flood (Jason) of Frankfort and Chrystal Dawn Houston of Kirklin; 3 step sons, Robert Rhode of Lafayette, Shannon Rhode (Tammy) of Rossville and Joseph Rhode of Lafayette; step daughter, Patricia Rhode (Steve) of Lafayette; 3 brothers, Bruce A. Kercheval (Judy) of Monticello, Rodney L Kercheval (Chris) of rural Frankfort and Roger Kercheval of Kirklin; 3 sisters, Brenda D. Kehr (David) of Jacksonville, Florida, Melissa J. Gilhousen (Bob) of Kirklin, Melinda D. Jobe (Kenny) of Kirklin; 14 grandchildren, Delaney Houston, Ella Vann, Dexter Houston, Branson Flood, Ciara Rhode, Brandon Rhode, Justin Rhode, Austin Rhode, Stevie Rhode, Scarlet Rhode, Rayce Houston, Kylie Merriman, Kayla Merriman and Corbin Crick; 3 great grandchildren; 1 uncle, Paul Richard Kercheval; 2 aunts, Wanda and Leesa Kercheval; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 granddaughters, Jerika and Alicia Rhode; brother in law, Craig Gilhousen; 3 sisters in law, Brenda, Betsy and Ima Lewis; in-laws, Robert and Zell Lewis; paternal grandparents, Everett Withrow and Lucille (Payne) Kercheval; Maternal grandparents, Arvel and Juanita (Trent) Lester; uncles, Bobby Lester, Ronald Lester, Perry Lester, Morris Kercheval and David Kercheval; and paternal aunts, Rebecca Kercheval and Mary Kercheval-Carlile.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th Street, Sheridan, Indiana, with visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Pastor Dick Pursiful and Pastor Karl Kercheval will be officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirklin.
