Jerry Paul Fordyce, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Presence Holy Family Medical Center.

He was born and raised in Southern Indiana and attended Greenville College earning a degree in education and business. Following college, he moved to Hazel Crest where he was a teacher for District 143.

Jerry then turned a hobby into a career working for various landscaping companies. He retired from Allied Nursery doing what he loved.

He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and a lifelong Indiana University fan.

Jerry was completely committed and dedicated to his family. He always demonstrated loyalty to his friends. Jerry will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue (nee Heilstedt) Fordyce; children, Lynn (Mike) Watson and Steve Fordyce; grandchildren, Haley and Bryan Watson, Emma Fordyce, Brennan Hoffman and Ryan Strunga; sister, Melody (Michael) Sizemore; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Thelma Fordyce and sister, Frieda Ford.
