Howell Hamlin P'Pool Sr was born on June 16, 1891 in Trigg County, Kentucky, the son of Edward Calvin P'Pool (1841–1916) and his wife Mildred Christine "Millie" (Washington) P'Pool (1858–1940).
He was married about 1919 to Cora "Aileen" Ballentine (1897–1961), the daughter of Oscar B Ballentine (ca 1871–ca 1920) and Cora A (Batts) Ballentine (ca 1871– ).
A linotype operator for the Newspaper Printing Corporation and living at 2911 Granny White Pike, Nashville, he was 70 years old and a widower when he at Saint Thomas Hospital died of a cerebral hemorrhage on January 22, 1962.
Survivors included a daughter Mrs Don H Deaton; sons Howell H P'Pool Jr and Edwin P'Pool of nashville; sister Mrs Thomas Page of Donelson and six grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at Waverly Belmont Church of Christ, and burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
